Pray for the angels
Tasked as our guardians
So pure in virtue
So unprepared
How shocked they must be
The first day on the job
Helpless to stop us
From cursing
violating
torturing one another
Shell shocked with shaking hands
They take another drink
Contemplating the earth from the clouds
How many have jumped?
An eternity of faithful service
Cut short
Unable to understand
Such senseless acts
It’s easier than changing
